“Home and Kin: Memoir” with Monic Ductan
Saturday, September 21, 2024
9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. EST
Monic Ductan, who teaches creative writing and literature at Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, will lead the Tennessee Mountain Writers’ 2024 Fall Workshop, “Home and Kin: Memoir,” on September 21 at Grace Lutheran Church in Oak Ridge.
Monic says, “We will examine several published essays and memoir excerpts to inspire and guide us. The morning lecture and writing session will focus on writing about family, with several writing prompts to choose from, followed by generative writing. The afternoon session will challenge participants to focus on a place-based essay and use specific setting details to bring that place to life. It will also include generative writing on a prompt.”
